WATER AND ALCOHOL WASH -
OPEN ETCH 1 MIL deep
1. Remove protective cover from plate
2. Inspect and dust plate surface
3. Position the film positive, emulsion side down (dull side) onto plate.
4. Place in vacuum unit under vacuum blanket.
5. Engage vacuum. Check for air pockets and dust. Correct if needed
before
you expose.
6. Set exposure times and activate.
a. Water wash plate exposure time - 60 seconds.
b. Alcohol wash plate exposure time - 60 seconds
7. Develop
a. Water wash develop for 8 seconds using 90 degree F water then
gently blow-dry with air or pat dry with lint free rag.
b. Alcohol wash - develop plates for 4 seconds and quickly rinse with
water. Check depth and if necessary develop for additional 4 seconds.
8. Place in oven dryer for 8 -10 minutes at 150º F.
9. Remove and let cool to room temperature.
10 Expose for 15 minutes in exposure unit to harden. (vacuum is not
necessary).
11. Plate is now ready to use.
The times used in these instructions are only guidelines and may vary
with different exposure units and intensity of lights. Exposure times
may also effect washout times. Should be tested

1. Remove protective cover from plate

4. Place in vacuum unit under vacuum blanket.
5. Engage vacuum. Check for air pockets and dust. Correct, if necessary,
before you expose.
6. Set exposure time for 45 seconds and activate. Use the same exposure
time for water or alcohol plate material.
7. After exposure, remove film positive and replace with screen film
(emulsion
side down)
8. Engage vacuum. Check for air pockets and dust. This is very
important. One piece of dirt will make the plate unusable.
9. Exposure time 30 seconds
10. Develop
a. Water wash - Develop for 1 minute using 90-degree F water then gently
blow-dry with air or pat dry with lint free rag.
b. Alcohol wash - Develop plates for 60 seconds and quickly rinse with
water. Gently blow dry with air
11. Place in oven dryer for 8-10 minutes at 150º F.
12. Remove and let cool to room temperature.
13. Expose for 15 minutes in exposure unit to harden (vacuum is not
necessary).
14. Plate is ready to use.
Exposure time may very depending on exposure units and intensity of
lights.
That also may effect washout times. Should be tested.
